STEINHAUER eCAB PWA. The personal wiring assistant

The STEINHAUER eCAB PWA is a machine with an absolutely new concept. The STEINHAUER eCAB PWA (PWA stands for Personal Wiring Assistant) is a mobile wiring work place, that can be placed right next to the switchboard.

On site the conductors are being produced in individual length and furnished with sleeves if needed.

Essential for the machine concept eCAB PWA is that the next conductor is being produced while the previous one is being insert into the switch board.

That way an efficient production flow can be achieved, and a considerable savings in time needed for the wiring can me made.

Compared to a centrally manufacturing conductor machine, the in-house prefabrication of conductors and the related logistics can be omitted.

How does the STEINHAUER eCAB PWA work?

► You make a connection diagram as usual, with an electro CAD program.

► Additionally to the connection diagram, a layout of the mounting plate is made.

► Your software calculates automatically with the outing functions, the length of the wire and the where the cables have to be placed.

► The generated data contain a conductor list for the eCAB PWA and a graphic layout plan of the switching system.

► During the production process, which can be started without any preparation:

• The eCAB PWA produces first one conductor and shows the way it has to run on the screen.
• While an operator is placing the first conductor, the eCAB PWA produces a second conductor. when the operator is done with placing the first conductor is already ready to be placed on the switchboard.
• The finish of the first conductor has to be acknowledged by the operator, the screen switches to the second conductor and shows how this has to be placed, the eCAB starts the production of the third conductor.
  Optionally, labels with denominations can be made at the same time.

Which equipment is needed is needed to use the eCAB PWA?

► Next to a classic planning system (e.g. EPLAN P8, Aucotec, Engineering Base/ELCAD, Zuken (Cim-Team) E³, WS-CAD) a layout and routing system is needed.
The layout system is usually part of the E-CAD application or available a independent software.

Which advantages offers eCAB PWA compared to other technologies?

► Conventional, manual wiring:

• great economy of time
• the manufacturer does not have to be able to “read” a circuit diagram plan.

► Central wiring manufacturing with labelling:

• A central work preparation (with conductor preparation) is not needed. Thus personnel costs could be reduced.
• The in-house logistics for the conductors can be omitted. eCAB PWA connects the planning process immediately with the operator, who is in front of the switch board.
• An ink jet print is not needed on the conductor. If a wiring has to be corrected after being done with the complete wiring of the installation, small corrections can be made conventionally, without an obvious revision of a missing print.
• No maintenance-high electronic devices f.i. ink-jet printer, are being are attached to the eCAB PWA.
