Our solution for very large enclosures
Fully automated machining of enclosures and flat workpieces up to 2,400 x 1,450 mm (HxW) - Drilling, tapping, milling and engraving
New enclosure series require new machines
An important part of worldwide panel building production is based on non-dismountable enclosures like the new Rittal CL and ES series. The size of these enclosures even exceeds the capabilities of our powerful eCAB WorkCenter HS. Based on the same technology we have built the brand new eCAB ModCenter machining centre - a machine to leave nothing to be desired.
In the huge case processing opening of the machine electric enclosures up to a size of 2,400 x 1,450 mm (H x W) can be machined on all surfaces. For easy mounting of heavy workpieces the loading platform is running in ball bearings and can be moved backwards to allow loading of heavy loads with an indoor crane. After loading of the workpiece the platform is pushed back and locked pneumatically at machining position.

Silent machine operation for ergonomic working |
Splited workpiece exciting rail
The STEINHAUER eCAB ModCenter has a split workpiece clamping rail.
The power pack
The high frequency spindle motor with pneumatic guided chip catcher, automatic lubrication system and outlet for the optional chip extraction.
Workholding device
Flat and beveled pieces, like plates and external body panels (doors, side and roof panels) to the size of 1,550 x 2,400 mm, will be processed on the front of the machine.
Pneumatic frontside part fixture
The sophisticated workpiece fixtures reduce set-up time to a minimum.
Processing of electric enclosures
The divisible back of the STEINHAUER eCAB ModCenter provides an easy processing of various electric enclosures.
Tool magazine
The tool magazine with up to 21 tool positions.
Chip-resistant positioning techniques
Chip-resistant positioning techniques with ball screws and linear guides on all axes.
Framework
A welded structure made of 10 mm thick steel pipe ensures maximum torsional rigidity of the machine frame.
Solid and current control and drive
The modern 4-axes control from SIEMENS is hardware-based. All control components and drives are remote maintenable to ensure a high system availability at low operational costs.
Milling splint extraction
To avoid long way in the workshop machining centers will be happy to set up close to the wiring area of the cabinets. Swirling shavings can fly far, however, to 10 m and would be in a cabinet may cause devastating damage.
Operator security
Responsive double beam sensor systems (one each front and rear) guarantee an immediate disconnection of the machine when entering the work area during the machine operation.
Frontside part fixture
The upper front piece clamps are performed as a mechanical quick release ratchet. The lower front workpiece tensioners are designed as pneumatic muscles.
Depth control
The powered depth control stopeases mounting of heavy enclosures. The motor stops automatically at the machining position.
Pneumatic muscles
7 pneumatic muscles at the base of the machine´s frame hold fl at workpieces in place at the push of a button. The muscles can be switched off individually to avoid blocking areas in the clamping range. The coating under the fi xing points remains undamaged.
